The 2023 Chili Bowl lived up to its name in more ways than one. The temperature at start of play was about 46 degrees and it felt worse with a light rain falling, what the Irish would call "a soft day". This was not enough to stop 26 people showing up. Three wanted to be spectators (smart) but we did manage to persuade John Weidert to make it an even number of players. The first eight ends were completed and we got to what we really came for: "Food". I would like to thank everyone for the food they brought it was an outstanding selection. (I think I might have overdone it on the Chili if my second place picture is any guide.) It was hard to get the players out on the Green for the Semi Finals but with much prodding the players finally left the food. The Semi Finals were completed with assistance from the lights, with the finals being played in the gathering gloom. Congratulations to the winners (somewhat wet) and commiserations to the losers (Only damp).
I would like to add a special thanks to Jean Lewis for working away in the kitchen while we all played.
